Angelo Mincey

Angelo Mincey joins the muse mantra team as a piano and vocal teacher. A native Texan, Angelo currently resides in the Houston area where he graduated with a Bachelor of music with a concentration in Piano Performance at Sam Houston State University School of Music under Dr. Diego Caetano. 

 

Prior to attending Sam Houston State, Angelo attended Amarillo College School of Music, taking piano lessons from Dr. Bruce Lin and studying voice with International Opera Singer, Mary Jane Johnson.  

 

Angelo recently attended the Avila International Music Festival in Avila, Spain, where he performed Beethoven Sonata no 12 in A-flat Major. In the fall of 2021, he was a semi-finalist for the SHSU Piano Concerto Competition, performing Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 20 in d minor.

 

Angelo has been seen on stage in Amarillo Opera’s production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Evita with Broadway’s Jackie Burns, and the premiere of Michael Ching’s Remove Shoes Before Entering: a new opera as The Samaritan. Favorite stage credits include Legally Blonde: the musical, under the musical direction of Kyle Norris, Les Misérables with Craig Schulman, A Christmas Story: the musical, and Little Women: the musical.

 

Angelo considers technique, theory, and music history important building blocks and prides himself on teaching these to both piano and voice students. 

 

He believes every student has a different motivation for learning music and works hard to help students reach their goals.  Whether you want to be a classical pianist, lead your local cover band or worship team, or obtain a talent to impress your friends, Angelo will work to get you there!
