Dan Starkie

Dan Starkie is a Guitar, Ukulele and Drums instructor at muse mantra. While he explored multiple instruments in his early years, he found his passion for the guitar at the age of 11.  Over the years Dan has drawn inspiration from bands such as Green Day, blink-182, and Jimmy Eat World.  He has experience teaching both in home and studio lessons to young children through adult ages.

In 2019, Dan formed the alternative-rock band Blackmoore, as rhythm guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter, playing shows throughout the greater Houston area and releasing the album, “The Glory Before Us”.

Dan takes extra time to learn about his students and their goals, allowing each lesson to be interactive and fun. Understanding the powerful impact music can have at any age, he sees music as a gateway to even greater achievements for his students.  When Dan is not playing in his band and teaching at muse mantra, he loves traveling and making short films.
