Wendell Landers

Wendell is a Houston native, and started playing the guitar at 7 years of age. He was introduced to the guitar by his father who played guitar and sang. Wendell began taking guitar lessons at age 8 and studied with various teachers throughout the years. 


Wendell studied jazz fusion and classical music intensely and his style can be described as a combination of the two. His inspiration comes from player’s like Al-Di-Meola, Frank Gambale, John Pettrucci, and Steve Vai, to name a few!

Wendell received his Bachelors Degree in Music from Berklee College of Music, and also studied at the musician’s Institute GIT to further expand his skills.

Wendell's skills include notation, music theory, arranging, composition and his teaching style touches on these aspects as well. His fondest major gig was in 2005 in Austin, TX while playing with Robert Tull and the member’s of the Austin Symphony Orchestra. During that time, Wendell was also performing with his own jazz group called Owl Hollow Trio. Since then, Wendell has been composing his own music and consistently releasing CDs. Some of his CD compositions were aired on radio station 90.1, Rice University’s station along with his an on-air interview.
