Kapono Mendez has been deeply passionate about music since the age of 13, when he first picked up the guitar and drums. A dedicated student at muse mantra for over four years, Kapono has grown through countless performances and events under the guidance of Mr. Hayden - building a strong foundation in music theory and performance.

Inspired by iconic bands like Nirvana, Radiohead, and Pink Floyd, Kapono’s love for music quickly expanded into other instruments including piano and violin. His journey from student to instructor reflects his belief that learning music is a powerful path toward self-expression and personal growth.

Outside of teaching, Kapono enjoys spending time with his family, gaming on his PS5 and Switch, and creating videos for his YouTube channel.

As a teacher, Kapono is enthusiastic about helping students discover the joy and lifelong benefits of music. He strives to create a fun, supportive environment where students feel motivated to grow at their own pace—on and off the stage. Kapono joins muse mantra as a Guitar & Drums Instructor.
